About Linda Wilson Knitwear

Irish designer Linda studied her BA in Fashion Design at the renowned Limerick School of Art & Design.

She continued her studies with the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland, completing a Business & Design Skills course.

Before setting up her label Linda worked for several years as a designer,

both in-house and freelance within the Irish knitwear industry. Linda also worked

as a design and knitwear tutor within design education for a number of years.

In April 2000 she established her company Linda Wilson Knitwear,

operating from Limerick City.

Linda's main interest has always been in textiles. “I love to produce garments that are

distinctively different, creating my own fabrics and turning them into unique

and contemporary clothing.” To further this interest in creating textiles with a difference

and to aid in the growth of her business, in 2003 Linda returned to education

to complete 1 year post-grad in industrial knit technology.

Colour and texture are very important to the label, and her background of growing up

on a small farm in rural Donegal in the late 1970's and 80's can be felt

in the garments that she creates.

The Label

Award winning designer Linda uses both her experience as a designer

and her knowledge of knit to showcase her designs. Her knitwear uses silk & cashmere blends alongside 100% merino lambswool to create uniquely individual, beautiful and wearable garments with matching accessories. She combines the natural qualities of the yarn with quirky stitch structures to create textiles that have a sense of the rich Irish heritage of knit but are fashion-forward in their design. Each piece is designed and produced in her Limerick studio.
